Heavenly Father, Let us not worry about questions that try to trap us so we loose our faith in You. You have shown me many times as of late, there are things I don't have to and shouldn't worry about. We can read from Jesus, where He answered a question with a question. Let us be doers of the Word and resist the devil so he will flee, Lord, we too easily misplace our affections on that which lasts only a season, instead of that which is for eternity. We thank you for our temporal dwellings; for the comforts they provide, for the joys we experience under our own roof. And yet we look forward to a new day when we leave behind our perishable body here on earth and are promoted to our home with the Lord Jesus, where we will fully realize the worth of our heavenly citizenship. We so look forward to a new heaven and earth where we will live among the righteous for all eternity. And it’s all because of Jesus, for which we give thanks! Amen.

Heavenly Father, we are so grateful that we have presence with You who knows every temptation we face and each emotion we feel. You know our areas of weakness where we are most vulnerable to our arch enemy, the devil. And so You remind us through Scripture and through caring brothers and sisters who bear our burdens that You are present to hear and prepared to deliver us as we draw near to You. We approach You through Jesus, our great High Priest who sympathizes with our weaknesses, and presents our every need to You. We are confident that You see and hear us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I want to walk in the wisdom of Your Holy Word as I make choices this day since the choices I will make tomorrow reflect the choices of today. You’ve given me the freedom to choose but You’ve also given me the wisdom and insight to know that the weight of those decisions bring about good or bad. May my actions not be based on man’s changing words or the standards of my brothers and sisters, for I know we are frail and subject to faulty thinking. I want the standards of the unchanging, living Holy Word to be an anchor for my soul judging the thoughts and attitudes of my heart so that I will stay the course for which You have called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. And help me to be watchful for those who are veering off course so that I can encourage them in the faith and be prayerful for their wandering souls. In the name of Your Son, Jesus, I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, Jesus commissioned us, as believers, to reach the lost, inviting them to surrender their lives to Jesus and receive forgiveness of sins. It is at their point of surrender that we witness the supernatural working of the Holy Spirit; cleansing, restoring, purging, and maturing the young believer toward good works in Christ. We thank You for the cleansing work of the Holy Spirit at work in each of us who come to faith, equipping us with the endurance and perseverance needed to walk our journey of faith in the midst of an increasingly hostile and unaccepting society. It is through Jesus that we come to You in prayer. Amen. Heavenly Father, we continually remember the work of our fellow believers that is produced by their faith in Jesus, their labor that is prompted by love, and their endurance that is inspired by the hope they have in the Lord Jesus Christ. How grateful we are for the love and fellowship we enjoy with our brothers and sisters who serve You all throughout the world. We lift up those who are presently enduring matters that weigh heavy on their hearts. May the hope they have in the Lord Jesus Christ inspire confidence that You will give them victory as they stand firm in You. In the Mighty Name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, no one can escape the all-pervading Being and observation of the Holy Spirit. We are, whether we will it or not, as near to You, Lord as our soul is to our body, for the Holy Spirit dwells within the Christian. Lord, we are amazed at Your creative process and marvel at the beauty of life. You knit us together in our mother’s womb and provided everything we had need of before our birth and have done so as well all the years we have lived following our birth. You will do so until You call us home and there we will lack for nothing as we receive the inheritance that is waiting for us which can never perish, spoil or fade. Thank You for giving us life and providing for all our needs; physical, material, relational, and spiritual. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, just like our bodies need food for nourishment, our spirit needs spiritual food to grow stronger. We need our minds stirred up by those things which are true, honorable, right and pure. Stimulate our minds to wholesome thinking as we consider Your Word which not only purifies us within, but also guides us as we develop godly character. Help us to maintain a teachable heart that is open to a fresh perspective on ancient truth but is also blessed when we receive the reminders of truths well established from the beginning of time. Remind us often that our words and actions give us opportunity to bring You glory as we reflect Your image. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I know You have called me to live in this time and this place. I know You have a plan for my life and also for those that follow along with these prayers and stand in agreement with me. In this depraved generation, darkness is sweeping across the land. At one time morality and virtuous behavior was applauded, but we now live in a time where good is called evil and evil is called good. Those who uphold Biblical truths are seen as archaic, old-fashioned, unenlightened, and even backward. May we not be confused by where the line crosses Your perfect will for our lives. We know in our hearts that teachings or lifestyles that defy Your holy Word is evil, not good. Enable us to “speak Your Word with great boldness” like Peter on the Day of Pentecost. May we not be intimidated or allow ourselves to be bullied into a position that contradicts that which is revealed in Your Holy Word. You Lord, are the same yesterday, today and forever. You are not a respecter of persons. We rely on the power of Your Holy Spirit to live out our lives in a way that honors You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, help me to store this vital Scripture today; “a righteous man will be remembered forever.” When I’m tempted to compromise my integrity in exchange for ungodly choices may this Scripture ring alarm bells in my heart and mind. Let its truth persuade me to say “no” to ungodliness and worldly passions so that I can live a self-controlled, upright and godly life in this present age, for Your way is the best and lasting way. I thank You and praise You and pray this prayer in the name of Your Son, Jesus. Amen! Heavenly Father, just like the parable of the ten virgins, we need to be alert and prepared. Depending on the state of our hearts we view the Scriptures about death or the return of Your Son in dread, as a warning or as a welcoming. We prepare our hearts by trusting You and asking You for the forgiveness of sins and inviting You to reign in our lives. We pray for those we love that they too will make spiritual preparations for their death or to be ready for the trumpet sound when the dead in Christ rise first and then we who believe will be caught up to meet Jesus in the skies. We have been warned, let us be prepared, and welcome with great anticipation the time when we will transition or at the second coming of our Lord. We lift up our heads as our redemption draws near. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. |
