Heavenly Father, we live in Your grace that enables us to seek You more fervently as You produce in us a persevering spirit in the midst of adversity. Instead of driving us to hopeless despair, our suffering produces perseverance and perseverance produces proven character whereas proven character brings about a mature hope that turns our disappointments into rejoicing, that will help us to see them as mercies in disguise. You have poured out Your love into our hearts and brought assurance to our spirit. The image of Christ is seen in our lives through the character traits You grow in us as we die to ourselves and live for You. Keep us faithful and hopeful during the painful process and teach us how to turn our mourning into dancing. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

Heavenly Father, we can see in scriptures and we can see people that we are surrounded by, those who have a continual regard of Your precepts and put themselves under divine guidance by acknowledging You and praying to You, in faith, shall find health of soul, good habits of body and true success in life. Hallelujah! Jesus, help me to trust You even when circumstances would lead me to feel that You are distant and unaware of my circumstances. When I am focused on the difficulties in my life I can easily become overwhelmed, fearful and confused. But when I look to You, my victorious risen Savior, who endured the times of testing by spending time in passionate prayer, whether it was the 40 days in the wilderness when You stood strong against Satan’s frequent temptations or when You prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane, I am strengthened and encouraged by Your example. When You were overwhelmed with sorrow even to the point of death You fell with Your face to the ground and surrendered Your human will to the Father’s plan which included unjust suffering and even death. And, whether we like it or not, Scripture tells us if we are to share in Your glory we must also share in Your suffering. Help me, Jesus, to watch and pray so that I will not fall into temptation during those experiences that involve suffering, but rather that my spirit and flesh will be strengthened so that I remain victorious through You, Jesus Christ my Lord, in whose name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, my heart aches for the persecuted church. We pray for our brothers and sisters in distant lands suffering at the hands of those whose lack of compassion and evil means knows no bounds. May the comforting presence of Your Holy Spirit be as soothing salve and a healing ointment deep within their souls. We pray for the family members separated from their loved ones. Speak peace and divine purpose into their spirit as You remind them that their loved one is standing with fortitude and courage in the very face of evil. We pray for those who persecute and hold these innocent believers captive. May the very testimony and courage of these believers be as a shining light in the darkened prison of these captor’s very troubled souls. Convict them of their sins and deliver them from Satan’s army of evildoers. Lord, we pray for the families, churches, and communities of those who have paid the ultimate price for standing firm in their faith. Like Stephen, James, John, the disciples, and millions throughout the centuries, they laid down their temporal mortal flesh below and put on their eternal immortal spirit on the other side. You use these human tragedies to stir people’s hearts and to broadcast the message of salvation often bringing about repentance and reform. Nothing we do for you is in vain but works for the greater purpose of spreading the gospel. And lastly, we pray for our own country that is changing drastically day by day. The god of secularism is trying to wipe out Your presence in every public forum: the media, our government, the schools, the workplace, the marketplace. People who hold deep convictions based upon the Holy Word of God are being maligned, mocked, persecuted and fined for their firmly held beliefs, costing them their savings, their livelihood. Especially prone to attack are those who hold the Biblical view concerning the sacredness of marriage and the sanctity of life. The Bible is being removed from the military even as it has been removed from the public schools in recent decades. Father, we might despair but instead we pray for a mighty revival within the church spilling out into all the places of influence, especially the family unit. May revival start right here within our own hearts, helping us to stand firm in these troubling times. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, You are good and how marvelous is Your love. So many things in life are unobtainable, just beyond our grasp, but You make Your love available to everyone who calls on the name of the Lord. Your love and tender care mends the broken heart; it cleanses the sin-filled heart, and it encompasses the empty heart. How utterly amazing that You would pour out Your sinless, extravagant love on the vilest of sinners who truly believes. Incredible to comprehend, but nothing in all creation can separate us from Your gracious and compassionate love. Thank You, Father for loving me. In Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, because of Your marvelous grace You commissioned Your Son, Jesus, to die for an ungrateful, unreceptive and hostile people, and that includes me. It’s easy to be critical of Peter who so boldly asserted that he would never deny Christ, but did so within hours and at such a critical moment. Yet Peter’s actions help us to view the tender grace You poured out on him at his lowest moment. His bitterness dissolved into brokenness. You are close to the brokenhearted, and deliver those whose spirit has been crushed. It is so instructive and encouraging to know that weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning. Peter, a fearful failure who grew into a faithful follower, eventually gave his life for the cause of Christ. May we too have such a resolve to follow you even if it means we may lay down our life for You. Thank You for Your amazing grace that looks beyond our faults and sees our need. I ask and thank in Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, I praise Jesus for His finished work done for me at the cross. it will take my entire life on earth and all of eternity to express my love and devotion for what He did. In Your great love and compassion You saw my need for redemption and Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice by dying on the cross in my place. He paid in full the sin debt He did not owe so that I could receive complete forgiveness which I did not deserve. What indescribable peace this brings to my life on this earthly pilgrimage. Although I do not know my death due date I have an assurance of eternal life when You have destined to call me home, not because of what I’ve done or who I am, but because Christ gave His all for me! I receive that gift today! I pray this prayer in my Saviors name. Amen Heavenly Father, as I learn more of You and Your ways, I have been blessed and that is what happens to those who read and understand Your Word more blessed is the man whose life is the practical transcript of the will of You as revealed in the Scriptures. Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. It shows me wrong from right, from sinfulness to forgiveness, from darkness to light and from mortality to immortality. To what other source could I find the answers that give hope, assurance, truth and light. Thank You for the Word of God which is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword. It penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and attitudes of my heart. I do well to read it, pay attention and heed its message. Thank You Jesus for becoming more real everyday in my life and it is in Your name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we thank You for the hope we have which is an anchor for our soul, a hope both sure and steadfast. We’d like the world to believe in and comply with the teachings of Scripture so that our sojourn here is smooth with others affirming our decision to walk in Your ways, but Scripture tells us otherwise. If we are to share in Your glory we will also share in Your sufferings. But it’s not in vain, for in our suffering perseverance is developed, character is built and unending hope will anchor our faith. Our foundation is unshakeable as we anchor it in Your remarkable provision for our sins forgiven, abundant life provided right here on earth, and future eternal bliss in heaven. We are a blessed people, so much so, that words fail to express our gratitude. Thank You Jesus and we pray in Your name. Amen Heavenly Father, we read in scriptures where Jesus calls us to come unto Him and find rest. We are to take His yoke upon ourselves so that we are not singly walking in our limited strength, our imperfect wisdom, or our inadequate abilities. Instead we are yoked together with Him, learning to walk in His ways, following His commandments which are holy, just and good. Jesus, as I learn more of You through Your Word, I am learning self-denial and how to overcome difficulties as I trust You in all Your ways. It is a yoke of pleasantness as we find that Your assistance daily checks our attitudes while navigating our duties as we walk in the light of Your Holy Word. We are one with You as we daily walk in Your Spirit. In Jesus name I thank and pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as we journey day by day in this world, many challenges, disappointments and quandaries fill our hearts. Even if we are saved and walking daily by faith. The original sin committed by Adam and Eve has left a permanent stain on so much of what we encounter from day to day. But in Your compassion You provide us with ample Scripture that directs us, sustains us, and encourages as we encounter these bumps and unexpected potholes along the way. Most notably Isaiah 41:10 teaches us to hold steady and trust You: “Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” We know that trust will stamp out fear since we are upheld by Your righteous right hand. Thank You for caring, loving, and providing for our every need. Thank You Jesus for Your sacrifice for us and through You we pray. Amen. |
