Heavenly Father, Your Word admonishes us to “Contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints.” There are many obstacles that will lead us astray as we contend for the faith if our eyes become fixed on the obstacles. Instead we want to fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who set His eyes on the throne of God, enabling Him to endure the cross, its shame and agony. Fix our eyes on the goal of heaven where all will finally be made perfectly clear when we see Jesus face to face. In the meantime sustain us by Your mercy, grow our faith, and help us to take as many as possible with us to our eternal home in heaven. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

The obstacles are like the wind and the waves that took Peter's eyes off of Jesus. May we stay fixed on Him so that we do all things for His glory.

I haven't checked any other translations, but KJV and ESV are not as clear as the CSB - for me, the difficult wording simply turns my mind OFF quickly. I BEGAN with KJV since that was all I had at the start - the NASB came after I'd come to faith and I adopted it immediately. Since then I've been interested in translations since I buy or recommend bibles to others. The CSB happens to have one of the best STUDY bibles I've seen - far better than Ryrie and better than the ESV. However, Crossway, to me, has the best SITE, so I use ESV more than any other. But my latest 'standard' Bible IS the CSB, having first used the HCSB for a couple of years. Almost DONE with April and STILL no archive?
