Heavenly Father, the greatest expression of Your love is Your faithfulness to us in all areas of our life. Though the devil seeks to steal and destroy, You came to give us an abundant life. Likewise You have made us in Your image and sent Jesus in the flesh to show us the highest degree of love in the human realm. We want to faithfully express our love to those entrusted to us; whether it is our spouse, parent, child(ren), or any other in our family setting. Just as You have loved us with an everlasting love and therefore continue Your faithfulness to us, help us to love our family members to the very end by continual love and faithfulness to their every need. Father God, we also lift up the thousand that are hurting all over the world. Our hearts are heavily concerned for our troops in Afghanistan, for our fellow Americans, for the believers and Christian leaders, and for the Afghan people already being enslaved, tortured and slaughtered by the Taliban. We need a miraculous deliverance and wise leaders who will do what is necessary to come to the aid of those in peril. We pray for the Haitians, many who have lost not just their homes but family members. Miracle working God, we pray that "You will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. Take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death. Rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in Your sight" and precious they are to their families and friends. In the Mighty name of Jesus I pray and know that there are many other brothers and sisters that stand in agreement. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we consider the words of Solomon who wisely wrote that, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” We’re so thankful that You are the third strand in the cord of husband and wife who commit themselves to following You. You fortify and lead them along life’s highway, through the smooth and bumpy roads from their youth into their old age. For this we are thankful. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we pray for those of us who are in a marriage relationship, that You would strengthen our marital bond and increase our love and commitment year by year. Help us to be quick to forgive, the first to say, “I’m sorry” and looking not only to our own interests but also to the interests of our partner. Help us to practice forbearance and persevere daily as we build healthy relationships with our spouses. In this world of instability with frequent divorces and broken families may our children and those who look on see us being faithful to our vows in the good times as well as the bad. We can do this in the power and strength of the Holy Spirit through our Lord Jesus Christ in whose name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we are surrounded by Your awesome works and the endless display of Your divine handiwork. We give special consideration to that today due to the solar eclipse. But the entire universe is in perfect order which is a testimony to Your greatness and continued watchful eye over all of Your creation. The silent heavens speak as they declare Your majesty and glory. They also testify to Your righteousness and faithfulness as the Lord who created them and gave them a purpose for existence. May we, as Your human creation, also proclaim Your righteousness and faithfulness day after day. May our lives display the work of Your all-powerful Spirit as we continue to grow in our faith journey here below until the day of Christ’s return. It is in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as we consider the days of old we see Your faithful hand guiding us along life’s pathway, in our own lives and in the generations that precede us. Your deliverance from our sins, Your provision for our every need and Your guidance for our every step keeps us firmly anchored like a tree planted by streams of water. Keep us faithful and trusting until we cross over to the Promised Land. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Heavenly Father, You are immortal, invisible, God only wise. All of creation is subject to Your authority so we, along with millions of other committed believers, choose to bow our knee and lift our hands toward You, our blessed and only Ruler, the king of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal. You live in unapproachable light, but we can and do worship You in Spirit and in truth. We worship and honor You in this life, gladly receiving Jesus as our unimpeachable King, and will do so through the eons of time. In the name of Jesus we ask and thank. Amen. Heavenly Father, we are so blessed to know You as the Father of compassion and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles. Your glory, displayed in the face of Jesus, is seen in the compassion He expressed for the crowds of people who were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. It’s one thing to have troubles but it’s another thing to have no Shepherd to guide, encourage, or help us in our troubles. Thank You for being our Great Shepherd who leads and cares for us, who made a way for us to be freed from the penalty of sin through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. It is in His name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, like Paul who desired that his kinsmen not be destroyed by their sin of unbelief, we too bear a burden for our fellowman that they come to repentance and find salvation through Christ Jesus our Lord. Jude warns us that there will be mockers in the last time who walk according to their own ungodly lusts. We see it with our eyes and it is evident in the news every day. But we are encouraged in our witness knowing that salvation is available to any mocker or unbeliever who turns to you in repentance. Jesus is the only name under heaven by which we can be saved so we proclaim Him who lived among the people, was sacrificed for our sins, was buried and rose on the third day. How we pray that the life of Christ might resonate through our lives so that others might see Jesus in us. It is in Jesus’ name that we pray for a plentiful harvest in declaring the gospel through our witness and our lives. Amen. Heavenly Father, since our birth we have only known what it is like to live under the curse of sin due to Adam and Eve’s disobedience in the Garden of Eden. But we have the blessed assurance from Scripture that one day we will live in the restored Eden where we will not be affected or influenced by the evil of sin. There will no darkness of any kind for we will live in the glory of the light of Christ throughout all eternity. The anticipation of a glorious eternal future in heaven gives us hope, strength, and endurance when we deal with the cup of suffering, loss, or disappointment on this side. Until the day my eyes behold the city of Jerusalem my resolve is to stay faithful, be fruitful and share Your love with all whom I encounter here in my sphere of influence. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I want my heart to be committed to Your Truth and righteousness, for You are the Way, the Truth and the Life. I place my complete trust in You and reject the godless trends and vain philosophies promoted by the world regardless of how popular they may be, no matter what celebrity or famous person promotes them or how they may be validated by the wisdom of this world. Like our Lord Jesus stated, “Thy Word is truth.” May Your words be embedded in my heart and mind through the faithful study of Scripture so that I might not sin against You and so that I will recognize truth from error. Keep me faithful and true. In the name of Jesus I ask. Amen. |
