Heavenly Father, I thank You for Jesus who entered the Courtroom of Justice with me as I sought favor with You. I went to relinquish my sins but the only problem is that I had no defense or payment to offer in exchange for them. I entered the Courtroom dressed in my very best as I presented to You my righteous acts but one by one I realized they were seen as filthy, crimson rags. They were like leaves that shrivel up when detached from the vine. But then Your Son, Jesus, my Advocate, took His robe of righteousness and lovingly placed it over my heavy shoulders. It was at that glorious moment that I realized You looked away from my filthy, crimson rags that Jesus removed and looked upon my new robe of righteousness. I was able to give You nothing but a heart full of crimson stains but You exchanged it for a surrendered heart that is now white as snow. I am wholly grateful that when You look at me You see Jesus’ righteousness. He paid the full price, He paid it all. I owe Him everything and it will take all my remaining days on earth and all eternity in heaven to express my love and gratitude for His incomparable love and sacrifice toward me. Thank You Jesus and in Your precious name I pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, my heart is heavy today as I continue to see the disastrous results of a country that has turned away from its original purpose for existence. I see ones in our government that are so blinded to Your truth, or what seems like any truth. Our current laws have dictated that Your Ten Commandments have no place in the discourse of public education. Evil forces seek to strip your people of the right to pray and so many in government do not seek Your approval when establishing the laws that govern our lives. I am thankful that we know have a president that is not ashamed to mention Your name. I am thankful that we now have a president that has a heart for Israel. Lord, we still have many moral issues that need to be dealt with. We see the injustice in so many ways. The perversion of marriage, sexual anarchy, clamoring for abortion rights, even to the point of one minute before the CHILD is born. Deadly violence. Now we see the foundations being destroyed and confusion abounds. Many cry out, “Where was God?” As I prepared Sunday's message last night, there are so many scriptures that tell a new believer that the we are to be holy because You are Holy Yet, to so many, all that the Scripture teaches us about how to live and show love one to another is referred to as old-fashioned, irrelevant, a thing of the past. There are experts that come from every direction to discuss their thoughts, but we know the only lasting answer to our need is provided for us in the arrival of Your Son, Jesus, who came to deliver us from our sins. How we pray for a mighty revival to sweep our land, revive our hearts and turn people away from their sins. We thank You for Your infinite mercy and I and I ask this in Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, Jesus warns us that Satan seeks to agitate us like wholesome grain that is being sifted from worthless chaff. You know the chaff we cling to such as doubts, fears, half-heartedness, slothfulness and other harmful debris that weakens or destroys our testimony and ultimately our faith. Help us not to resent the testings and temptations of this life that act as a filter forcing us to give up that which is uncomely to the Christian character; that which holds us back instead of moving us forward keeping us steadfast in our faith. We’re grateful for Jesus who faithfully intercedes for us, in the siftings and shakings of life. Above all, we’re grateful that no sin or failing on our part exceeds the scope of Your absolute forgiveness. Just as You restored Peter, reignited his zeal, and reinstated Him in his evangelistic role, You do the same for all who seek forgiveness and turn away from their sin. How wonderful, how marvelous is my Savior’s love for me. It is in the precious name of Jesus I ask and thank. Amen. Heavenly Father, our journey on earth is to be marked by gentleness and humility. There is no example greater than Jesus who left the glory and splendor of heaven to reside among sinful humankind. Though He was King of kings and Lord of lords He walked the lowly path of humility and laid aside His crown for a pauper’s life. He did not assume His rightful place but humbly rode on the back of a donkey’s colt. We’re so thankful that Jesus didn’t leave us before His mission was accomplished when the jubilant crowd turned into a jeering mob only days later. We long for the soon coming day when our faithful and true Savior who once rode on a donkey’s colt will appear in the heavens riding on a white charger leading the army of saints into their home eternal. What a day, glorious day, that will be! We praise You Jesus and we ask this prayer in Your name. Amen. Heavenly Father, we pray for discernment, so that we make wise decisions since You warn us that deceivers have gone out into the world, and if we’re not on our guard, we will be taken in by their deceptive ways. As we read Your Word we learn of those things that are true, honest, good, just and virtuous and we also learn of that which is false, destructive, and misleading. We learn how to detect the enemy though he or she may be dressed in sheep’s clothing and even masquerade as a Christian. But in time their words and their works will reveal who they really are. Keep us on our guard so that we are not taken in by those who prey on undiscerning believers. Instead we want to expose the fruitless deeds of darkness and build up the Kingdom of God. It is in the name of Jesus that we pray for discernment. Amen. Heavenly Father, as we embrace the cross of Calvary and apply Christ’s redemptive blood to our hearts we find newness of life. We are no longer bound by the chains that fettered us to sin. What great liberty and boundless joy to know that our names are written down in heaven. If we set our hearts on this world, or declare allegiance to those things which have no eternal merit, we will wear down and lose the joy that comes with newness of life. But as we set our hopes and joys on serving Christ, the joy of our salvation is ongoing, uplifting, and a testimony to all who seek answers that this world cannot provide. Like the early apostles may we, give testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. Thank You for raising Christ from the dead so that we can be redeemed and walk in newness of life everyday! In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I think of what Jesus, my Lord and my Savoir went through when He was arrested, scourged and nailed to that old rugged cross. His act of humility in the midst of ridicule, mockery and abhorrent behavior by the very people that You created. Jesus, You willingly died for us and that is not a picture of weakness, but instead it is one of incomparable self-sacrifice. You could have called a legion of angels to reveal Your power or to put Your accusers in their rightful place. But You chose to walk the road of humility and obedience all the way to Calvary, motivated by Your redemptive love for mankind. Love so amazing, so divine demands my soul, my life, my all! Thank You for loving me that much to take my punishment that I deserved. Thank You precious Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, it is because of Your great love that we are not consumed, for Your compassions never fail; they are sufficient, reliable, and so often exceed that which we can even imagine. We experience them every morning, throughout the day, and even in the night hour. Great is Your faithfulness, O God! As we observe the outcome of Your dealings with Your people, Lord, we repeatedly see Your omnicompassion and omnimerciful ways in our lives. And we thank You for it, in Jesus’ name. Amen. Heavenly Father, help us not to resent the storms of life or be fearful of their effects. Much like we prepared for a ravaging storm that went through Maine the past couple days where we anchored valuables to a firm foundation, help us to anchor our hearts in the firm foundation of Your Word that will help us to withstand the testings and trials of life that are certain to come our way. Even as a battered ship is proven to be seaworthy over its lifetime, may our faith be proven trustworthy as we hold onto You, the Anchor for our soul. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, when our earthly fathers discipline us, it is intended for immediate correction and future application. At the time it is painful and a humiliation of sorts. And with You, Father, Your discipline is not pleasant at the time but painful, though it transforms our thinking, shapes our values, and adapts our behavior so that we become more and more like Christ. May faithfulness, self-control, endurance, patience and other fruit and character traits be evidenced in our lives as we undergo discipline and training in righteousness. We pray for Your work to be done in our lives because we know that “later on it will produce a harvest of righteousness and peace”. In the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen. |
