Heavenly Father, as I read my Bible this morning, I notice that You were with Joseph “while” he was in the midst of a tremendous trial, due to no fault of his own. In fact, he was suffering because of the strong, moral stand he took in being a trustworthy servant. You don’t forsake us when we’re undergoing trial but You are right there with us showing us Your grace and favor, though it may be obscured by the gloomy overshadowing trial. You use Scriptures, devotional thoughts, sermons and fellow believers to bring us encouragement, instruction, and inspiration. They help us to weather the howling storms of doubts and fears in the troubling chapters of our life. Help us to trust You as step by step You lead us on our earthly pilgrimage. Thank You Lord and in the name of Jesus I pray. Amen

Heavenly Father, I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, my soul knows that very well. Your eyes saw my unformed body and yet all the days You ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be. I’m so thankful that wherever I go Your Spirit goes with me. I cannot flee from Your presence nor would I want to since I am protected and guided by Your righteous right hand. I want to be faithful to You and to Your cause all the days of my life until the final appointment when You call me to be with You in heaven. Thank You Jesus and in Your name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, there are many obstacles that will lead us astray if our eyes become fixed on the obstacles. Instead we want to fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who set His eyes on the throne of God, enabling Him to endure the cross, its shame and agony. Fix our eyes on the goal of heaven where all will finally be made perfectly clear when we see Jesus face to face. In the meantime sustain us through Your mercy, grow our faith, and help us to take as many as possible with us to our eternal home in heaven. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we thank You for the wonderful gift of love that we experience in a romantic relationship that often grows into a marital bond between a man and woman. It is a holy union in which we, as devout believers, make You the Cornerstone of our marriage and family. May we be a support to each other as we provide a loving and protective shelter from the bitter disappointments of life. May the fruit of the Spirit be evident in our daily walk both at home and in public places. Keep us wholly faithful to one another, rejecting every lustful temptation the devil sends our way. May we prove our love to each other with mutual respect, understanding, forgiveness, kindness, forbearance, and unity. In the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, Your love for us is most visible in the great sacrifice You made in giving us Your only Son to die for our sins. John writes, “God is love” and it is Your love for us that shows us how to love one another. The love we have for our spouse doesn’t always bring about a warm, fuzzy feeling but at times is costly requiring great sacrifice. Help us to take our vows seriously and carry out that which we promise so that our tested love becomes an enduring love. As we do so, we honor the sacrament of marriage that You ordained, we honor our spouse, we are an example to others especially our children, and we fulfill the Scriptural command to be faithful to our mate. In Jesus name I ask and pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, help us to hear the words of Scripture and be generous toward You. We want to give our all without reserve, to put our hope not in material things which is so uncertain, that can also lead to vain conceit or abusive power. When we store up goods only for ourselves it shows our lack of trust in You and our unwillingness to depend on you. Instead we want to share generously with others and be rich in good deeds. In this way we lay up treasures that do not diminish with time but lasts for all eternity. Keep us on track with this life goal in the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, each of us has opportunity to touch another’s life as we come alongside them in their time of need. Likewise, we benefit from one who gives freely of their time and resources, their wisdom and love as they see us in need. We are reminded throughout Scripture that we have a duty to help and encourage those around us, especially our brothers and sisters, while sojourning here below. Help us to be mindful of those in need as we fulfill the Christ’s command, “Do unto others as you would have them do to you.” We want to “bear one another’s burden and so fulfill the law of Christ”. Amen. Heavenly Father, You’ve given us so many venues in which we have opportunity to prove ourselves faithful. In our relationships, our work, our ministries and the marketplace we want to be faithful in the responsibilities entrusted to us. When tempted to compromise, due to seemingly insurmountable pressures we face, help us to remember that faithfulness to You is the greatest reward. To hear You say, “Well done, good and faithful servant” are the most joyous words of affirmation we will ever receive! Keep us faithful, Lord Jesus, for it is in Your name that we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, once again we declare our allegiance to You, for it is Yours’ alone. Like the prophet Elijah, we want people to know that You are the one true God and all that You do, You do in love for us and for our eternal future. We depend on You alone to save us. Only You can help us, protecting us like a shield. It is in You that our hearts rejoice, for we are trusting in Your holy name. May Your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in You alone. Thank You Jesus and in Your name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we won’t abandon our convictions nor lose our compassion when we follow You without reservation or compromise. We follow You and seek no other master. We do not want to be silent about Your work in our lives, but we want to provide a Biblical answer to all who ask about the hope that we have, and we want to do this with compassion, gentleness, and respect so that those who might find fault with the messenger will focus their attention on the message we share about You, our Master, Creator, and Redeemer! We will not be deterred from speaking up though our message may be unpopular or fall upon unreceptive hearts, for we choose to follow You with our lives, with our voice, and with obedient hearts. In Jesus name. Amen. |
