Heavenly Father, we thank You for those who make known the “unknown God” to the people of a foreign land or right here in America. More and more we hear of those who pray or look to a “higher power” for help in their day to day struggles. We thank You for those that lead Muslims to the faith of Jesus Christ. How unfortunate for them if they do not know You personally, Father God, to be the Highest Power available to all creation. From the very beginning You created a hunger within our hearts to serve you, but far too many misfeed that hunger and rather look to “gold or silver or stone—an image made by human design and skill”. Instead we are to feed our spiritual hunger by serving You with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. As we draw near to You, You promise to draw near to us. Thank You for making Yourself known to us in Your Word as we immerse ourselves in Your truths. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, my soul knows that very well. Your eyes saw my unformed body and yet all the days You ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be. I’m so thankful that wherever I go Your Spirit goes with me. I cannot flee from Your presence nor would I want to since I am protected and guided by Your righteous right hand. I want to be faithful to You and to Your cause all the days of my life until the final appointment when You call me to be with You in heaven. In Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, there are many obstacles that will lead us astray if our eyes become fixed on the obstacles. Instead we want to fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who set His eyes on the throne of God, enabling Him to endure the cross, its shame and agony. Fix our eyes on the goal of heaven where all will finally be made perfectly clear when we see Jesus face to face. In the meantime sustain us through Your mercy, grow our faith, and help us to take as many as possible with us to our eternal home in heaven. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as I read about Moses I learn a great deal from his act of obedience. Not only did his choice to experience mistreatment along with Your people provide an exodus for the Israelites, but it also provided a Biblical foundation for our lives throughout the centuries to our present day. We’ve gained so much from the spiritual truths taught through Moses’ applied wisdom, his discipline, and his obedience in recording Your truths and principles. Help us not to partake of the forbidden fruit that litters the path of life You have laid before us, as You keep our eyes on the eternal pleasures that await us as we walk in obedience to You. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, You teach us that we are to love one another unreservedly. The love You give us for others goes beyond our own natural inclinations. It is a love that motivates us to give without expecting anything in return. More often than not we fall short of extending this kind of love to our spouse and other loved ones. Only with Your continued help can we set aside our own expectations and learn to love the way You intend by always protecting, always trusting, always hoping, and always persevering with those You’ve brought into our lives. Thank You Jesus for that love that You have put in my heart and in Your name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, You are the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Your mercy endures to all generations since You created human life. Your truths are timeless and Your provisions are abundant to those who call upon your name. Help us to declare Your faithfulness to our own generation and to the generations that follow. Thank you for our ancestors who proclaimed Your faithfulness to their children who in turn passed on spiritual truths to us. And we now have the blessing and responsibility of proclaiming Your faithfulness to our children. Generation by generation we proclaim the salvation that comes through faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen. Heavenly Father, we see a perfect example of suffering from our Lord, Jesus Christ. By giving His all to pay the full ransom for our sins He underwent inhumane persecution to the fullest extent of giving His life through death that we might live. What seemed a hopeless cause turned into a victory above all other victories when His resurrected body made it possible for us, as His followers, to join in His eternal glory. But for now we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory. We like the glory, but are repulsed at the idea of suffering, and are mindful of those presently undergoing injustice and persecution, as well as the families undergoing tremendous stress and often grief. Fix in our hearts and minds the needed perspective that it’s just a little while that we suffer, but it’s for eternity that we share in Your glory. May we be found faithful along the way! In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we pray for those of us who are in a marriage relationship, that You would strengthen our marital bond and increase our love and commitment year by year. Lord, let us keep in mind that there is a real enemy who hates everything about us. There is a one that comes to kill, steal and destroy. You tell us that if we resist the enemy, he will flee. You also tell us that if we come near to You that You will come near to us. Help us to be quick to forgive, willing to say, “I’m sorry” and look not only to our own interests but also to the interests of our partner. Help us to practice forbearance and persevere daily as we build healthy relationships with our spouses. In this world of instability with frequent divorces and broken families may our children and those who look on see us keeping our vows in the good times as well as the bad. We can do this in the power and strength of the Holy Spirit through our Lord Jesus Christ in whose name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, once again we declare our allegiance to You, for it is Yours’ alone. Like the prophet Elijah, we want people to know that You are the one true God and all that You do, You do in love for us and for our eternal future. We depend on You alone to save us. Only You can help us, protecting us like a shield. It is in You that our hearts rejoice, for we are trusting in Your holy name. May Your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in You alone. In Jesus name we ask. Amen. Heavenly Father, we won’t abandon our convictions nor lose our compassion when we follow You without reservation or compromise. We follow You and seek no other master. We do not want to be silent about Your work in our lives, but we want to provide a Biblical answer to all who ask about the hope that we have, and we want to do this with compassion, gentleness, and respect so that those who might find fault with the messenger will focus their attention on the message we share about You, our Master, Creator, and Redeemer! We will not be deterred from speaking up though our message may be unpopular or fall upon unreceptive hearts, for we choose to follow You with our lives, with our voice, and with obedient hearts. Thank You Jesus for the work You do in our lives. In Your name we ask and pray. Amen. |
